Critical Care Cardiology
Critical care cardiology has emerged as its own discipline, addressing the most complex cardiovascular emergencies. Sessions cover cardiogenic shock pathways, mechanical circulatory support (Impella, ECMO, IABP), acute heart failure decongestion, post-cardiac-arrest care, and the cardiac-intensive-care-unit (CICU) team model. Discussion includes acute coronary syndromes, pulmonary embolism intervention, refractory arrhythmia management, and the integration of palliative care into critical-care decision-making. The track convenes interventional, electrophysiology, heart-failure and intensivist teams.
